When Martin moved to Austin, he continued the on-location audio recording. However, he also worked for the State of Texas Dept.of Human Services as a producer of training. In that role he had the occasion to work with the DHS Media staff where he began producing video. His video production mentor was Bruce Scafe, who was the original producer of Austin City Limits. Bruce left Austin City Limits after the first season and Terry Lickona, who was originally an intern took over. Bruce producedthe video newsmagazine for DHS called TELEJOURNAL

Martin met James Milulenka when he sold Cheryl and Martin a home in Austin at 6002 Sun Vista. James worked as a realtor and print shop manager at the Austin American Statesman. He was also in a band called Shammy that included Wayne and Larry Gathwright.

Phantom's first Austin music album and video was produced for "Dan and Dave" who had been one of the favorite Austin "off the wall" bands. The album was named "Legends in Our Spare Time." It was recorded on an 8 track Teac 8--8 in Phantom's van and mixed at Ruff Cedar Studios with Martin, engineer Ben Thornton and producer Peter Butcher. The album was master at Parrot Track Studio. Peter and Martin formed a partnership that spanned several Austin music companies and took on an international scope.

We were saddened to learn of Dan Burke's passing on April 29, 2021. This is a photo taken from the Back Room documentary trailer in March 2021.
Daniel Vann Burke - October 13, 1942 ~ April 29, 2021 (age 78) Daniel Vann Burke, 78, of Buda, Texas, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 29, 2021. A Memorial Service is pending for a later date. Inurement will be private.

While continuing Phantom Productions, Martin formed a new company with Peter Butcher. Peter and Martin had met while working on NGP projects. Using Peter's European resources, Music, Etc. worked to secure new music from recording studios in the US and promote them to international publishers and record companies. Peter and Martin also enjoyed success during this time charting Leslie Gore's "It's My Party and I'll Cry if I Want To " on the US Billboard charts. See more
Peter secured the US marketing for the 1981 release of Leslie Gore's old hit "It's My Party" by UK artists Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin. The record had great success in Europe and made it to 72 in the US. The 1981 remake by Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin was a UK number one hit single for four weeks and was also a major hit in Austria (#3), Germany (#3), the Netherlands (#26), New Zealand (#1), South Africa (#3) and Switzerland (#6). The track reached #72 in the US.
11/15/81 Peter flew to LA with Dave Stewart to promote "It's My Party." Leslie Gore and Barbara Gaswere also there, A second trip and promotional event was held in New York.
