Chris & Martin's Scrapbook -Denver - Joan Baez Concert - 2018

These pages were initially created to transfer photos from traditional scrapbooks to the internet in order to both preserve and make the pictures and history available to family and friends. It has become more extensive than I intended. However, I see it as a way to save the details before they slip away.

In October, Chris and Martin flew to Denver to attend Joan Baez's concert on the 24th. Chris took Martin by the home they lived in while in Denver. We also had time to tour the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Included in the displays was a Starfighter on loan from Lusus Films and a Link Trainer display. Martin's Dad was a Link Trainer (blind flying/instrument flying) instructor during WW II.

Joan Baez's concert was incredible. We were lucky in securing seats in the middle of the front row. In addition to her great songs, Baez sang other compositions, including Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer." During the concert Baez read a statement about the US's history of positive immigration. At the end, after her band and staff took a bow, they kneeled during an excerpt from Jimmy Hendricks' National Anthem. • video
